Week 4 - Part II

Adam Yauch died last week. If you're in my age bracket, you probably listened to a lot of the Beastie Boys in grade school/high school and if you're like me, you found this to be crushing news. The Beastie Boys hadn't produced much music of worth in the last decade, but they were visionary and iconic and now they are no more. MCA didn't go out like Hendrix, Jim Morrison or John Bonham or even Hunter S. Thompson or Cobain, but to cancer. What a damn shame.

The Mets, in a move that's unbelievably cool (because, well, they're the Mets), honored the late rapper by playing the Beastie's music in the intro music to each player. I have to say that this made me smile.

To close on the MCA bummerness, I encourage you to watch this video. Does it feature Adam Yauch? No. Is it awesome? You bet.
